Great Compassion Repentance Dharma Function 每 Bringing Incense of the Great Buddha Back Home

The ※Great Compassion Repentance Dharma Function§ was held on 12th March to celebrate Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva*s Birthday. It was attended by a congregation of over 160 devotees, who followed the Presiding Minister, Venerable Abbess Manshin; and other Venerables to carry out the ceremony. Through the ceremonial repentance everyone sought to cleanse their body and mind to obtain a state of carefreeness.

The recent heavy down pour that resulted in many flooding around Auckland, which also affected the garden areas around the Wishing Bell; these events inspired the Abbess to recount some of her past experiences of similar circumstances during her Dharma talk. These stories included many cases of Celestial Dharma Protectors helping the temple. The aim of these stories are to remind everyone that as long as they hold right thoughts, cultivate the Way and propagate the Dharma, then they will certainly receive the support of Celestial Dharma Protectors.

Then the Abbes spoked about a motto of ※Thousands of temples, millions of people§ which accompanied the past fundraising events that made the building of Buddha Memorial Centre possible back in 2011. She recanted there were tens of thousands of people arriving at Taiwan to celebrate the Centre*s opening ceremony. The gathering of all these wondrous causes and conditions inspired faith in many people when they witnessed the magnificent Dharma Body of the Buddha.

The huge ※Buddha*s Light Buddha statue§ of the Memorial Centre have become a land mark of the area, which prompted many devotees wishing to invite a similar Buddha statue home so they can pay their respects. They hoped this will bring a piece of the Buddha*s illumination and wisdom home, so their homes can be harmoniously happy. Hence the Abbess encouraged everyone to promote this wondrous opportunity by ※Bringing Incense of the Great Buddha Back Home§. This will keep the Buddha*s inspirations alive in the world and allow one to bring affinities with the Dharma back home. When people can see the Buddha*s image everyday they will surely always be happy and be reminded of right thoughts. Therefore everyone is encouraged to quickly register at the Shrines to invite a Buddha*s Light Great Buddha home.
