¡°New Zealand Police Tamaki Makaurau Strategic Day¡± Held at the Temple


The ¡°New Zealand Police Tamaki Makaurau Strategic Day¡± meeting was held at the temple on 6th July. It was attended by Superintendent John Tims, Deputy Commissioner Viv Rickard, Acting Assistant Commissioner Sam Hoyle, and other high ranking officers in Auckland, making up 13 people in total. Venerable Abbess Manshin offered prayers to bless the day¡¯s discussions to be fruitful.

The Tamaki Makaurau organisation is established with the aim of improving police cooperation between different areas of Auckland, through strategizing better modes of development, planning and management. The day¡¯s discussions included police organisation make up, criminology, social investment and other strategies. They also planned to work with social organisations like Gandhi Nivas and Oho Ake to improve public safety.

The Abbess and Head Advisor Dolly Tsai also took Deputy Commissioner Rickard on a temple tour to see the various architectures and facilities including the Meditation Hall, Dining Hall, Art Gallery and various other Shrines. They also introduced the temple¡¯s various workings including education, cultural and spiritual purification activities. The Deputy Commissioner thanked the temple for providing these good conditions for the day and contributions toward building a solid foundation for propagating the Dharma, as this will surely contribution to a more harmonious and peaceful society.
