From 29th August 2009 to 22nd November 2009, Helena Kim Ju¡¯s Egg Art once again will be making its grand entrance in the Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery South Island. Parallel to the opening hours of the temple, 9:30am ¨C 5:00pm Tuesday to Sunday, the exhibition would be open to the public for viewing.
With its deep root of history across the globe, Egg Art is a delicate and patience testing art form. The egg art culture became established around 988 A.D and has many meanings across almost all cultures, primarily closely associated with life. Inspired from one small decorated egg Helena encountered on her travel in the United States many years ago, she was overwhelmed by the petite and elegant piece of work, which then provided her with the fuel that propelled her to become an international artist today.
