Purifying the mind with Tea Meditation

Demonstration of Tea Meditation at Fo Guang Shan (FGS) South Island was held on 25 June led by the Temple Minister in Charge, Venerable Juexi. Six practitioners prepared tea for 30 guests, with amongst three of them are mother and daughters from Singapore visiting New Zealand for their holidays. They did not let their chance slip into participating this tea meditation where Buddhas Light International Association (BLIA) member, Cao Qian, Louisa Kuo and Kokwei Low all gave the story of Ananda, which was one of Buddhas ten great disciple.

In the event, Venerable Juexi led everyone into an atmosphere of meditation in focusing on breathing and getting the right mindfulness while practitioners get cups of tea ready for them. The venerable continued in expressing ways of having everyone readiness and relaxation in tea drinking with three cups of wonderful tea and a cup of water to end the class with the meaning of it.

Youths that participated in the demonstrations feels tranquil and purified escaping the hustle and bustle of the city with a peace of mind. The visitors from Singapore had great feelings and experiences to stay with their heart before leaving New Zealand and everyone else is grateful as this Chan meditation benefits them much.
