Visit from High Commission of Malaysia

The High Commissioner to New Zealand, Cook Island & Independent State of Samoa, Dato¡¯ Lim Kim Eng, and her fellow office mates Sam Yau and 6 other guests from the High Commission of Malaysia came visiting the Fo Guang Shan (FGS) South Island on the 6th of July and were warmly welcomed by the Buddha¡¯s Light International Association (BLIA) member Ding Lih Son and Tracy Chen.

Ding firstly brought them to the art gallery which is currently exhibiting the ¡°Humanity and Love Oil Painting by Li Zijian¡± and shared the background of the artist. Dato¡¯ Lim and the visitors were amazed by the lively paintings and Ding expressed how FGS does multicultural, art, education and religious exchange in Christchurch.

They were then brought up to the Time Corridor where they understood the history of Fo Guang Shan and appreciated the ¡°Hand Crafted for the Love of Clay Exhibition¡± by local artist, Averil Cave. Within the time corridor, Ding explained the motto of Venerable Master Hsing Yun with 3G4G and brought them into the Main Shrine to say their prayers to Buddha.

The visitors left with a joyful heart and valued the tour given. The visitors have then invited BLIA members into the Malaysia¡¯s Independence Day event and in return were invited from the BLIA members to art exhibition openings in the near future.
