Immediate Change of Exhibitions

Artist Li Zijian¡¯s ¡°Humanity and Love¡± oil painting exhibition has been successfully concluded on the 23rd of July, 2017 at Fo Guang Yuan (FGY) Art Gallery Christchurch. FGY Curator ¨C Venerable Abbess Manshin, Minister In Charge ¨C Venerable Juexi and approximately 20 members of the Buddha¡¯s Light International Association (BLIA) Young Adult Division (YAD) were divided into two groups which were given the task to pack Zijian¡¯s oil painting and to replace the upcoming ¡°Ringing True¡± exhibition by Keith Morant.

On the morning of 24 July, YAD members drove and transported the artwork from Keith¡¯s home for the exhibition at FGY art gallery. There will be more than 60 art works to be exhibited on both floors of the FGY art gallery and time tunnel. The exhibition only consists of 10% of total Keith¡¯s creation.

In addition to the exhibition, Keith also introduced the story of ¡°The Wall of Bodhi-dharma¡± and his creation of two-storey miniature art museum to the young adults. This miniature of Keith and his wife, Tricia, are mini artworks in a museum and it is expected to bring Christchurch residents a wonderful surprise.

International exchange students, Peter Liao, John Peng, Yi-hsuan Li and Nina Chen from Fu Jen Catholic University, Taiwan, were also involved in the preparation for this exhibition. This was their very first participation in changing exhibitions in an art gallery. They expressed that although hanging paintings looks easy, the team have to show professionalism in handling and cooperating to get it correct. Through this participation, everything needs to be delicate and handled with care. Keith and Tricia were grateful and thanked the team for their full support for this exhibition to be carried out smoothly.

Artist Keith Morant¡¯s exhibition, ¡°Ringing True¡± and Artist Tricia Morant¡¯s exhibition ¡°Ceramica¡±, will start from 12 August till 24 December, 2017 in FGY Art Gallery. The exhibition will be open for preview on 1 August, 2017 and the opening ceremony will be held on 12 August, 2017 at 2pm. Artist Keith Morant will be preparing a variety of brushes on the drawing board for the visitors to create different circle of artwork. The art piece will then be completed by Keith after the closing of the exhibition. This collective creation of art work will be presented to a lucky winner being picked during the exhibition.
