2018.03.31 Qing Ming Dharma Function

According to Chinese culture, ethics and beliefs, the reverence of ones ancestors is looked upon as one of the foremost duties of living people. This long-standing culture of respect is still alive and well in todays capitalist society, and Qing Ming Festival is a particularly important event to Chinese people.

The Qing Ming Dharma Function is an opportunity for people to gather at the Temple and live the spirit of acknowledging and revering their ancestors. Through chanting, repentance, making vows and transferring merits under the blessings from the Buddha, Dharma and Sangha, we may transfer good merits to all the ancestors. Those who perform this virtuous act gain merits, which increase their wisdom and bring safety to society and peace to the world.
