On 26 June, around 15 members of the Passionist Family Group from Our Lady of Victories, Catholic Church & Friends located on the Main South Road had their monthly gathering visiting Fo Guang Shan (FGS) South Island in understanding design concepts of the building and exhibitions held in the Fo Guang Yuan (FGY) Christchurch Art Gallery.
The group had been warmly welcomed by FGY Christchurch Art Gallery Artistic Coordinator, See-Shen Lee and have been guided in an introduction of the details and design of the building. Amazed by the concepts of the building, See-Shen had then introduced them into the artwork of ¡°One-Stroke Calligraphy¡± by FGS and Buddha¡¯s Light International Association (BLIA) founder Venerable Grand Master Hsing Yun. The group continued their tour visiting an additional exhibition upstairs, ¡°The Traditional Chinese Dress ¨C The Beauty of QiPao¡±.
The curious group have all of their questions about the exhibitions, building and Buddhism answered by See-Shen. In understanding Buddhism, the Catholic followers believe that every religion have a mutual teaching that is to be good and not to harm others, for everyone to live in peace and learn to be compassionate. Thanking See-Shen and FGS South Island for this meaningful temple tour, the group ended the tour enjoying delicacies in the Water Drop Cafe.
