Seniors adds Brilliant Memories in Life

29 seniors from the suburb of Sumner, Christchurch, visited Fo Guang Yuan (FGY) Art Gallery Christchurch on September 14 at 1pm with a warm welcome from FGY Art Gallery Christchurch Artistic Coordinator, See-Shen Lee. The organizer of this trip, Lola Bouckan, started her planning since last month hoping the seniors would have a chance to enjoy the art and beauty of Fo Guang Shan (FGS) South Island with the delicious vegetarian meal at the Water Drop Cafe.

See-Shen guided the seniors in the history of FGS and the understanding in one of the current exhibition, One Stroke Calligraphy by FGS International founder, Venerable Master Hsing Yun. The seniors admired the courage and spirit of contribution to the public by the Master. They then continued in visiting Yi-Ming Lins Passion of Clay in lively, creative, and interesting ceramic artworks where the joyful guests freely asked questions for better understanding. They were then being guided to the Buddha Hall, and learned the basic history of Buddhism, some temple rituals, made a wish in front of the Wishing Bell and so on.

Ending the tour, the seniors enjoyed a scrumptious and healthy afternoon tea at the Water Drop Cafe. The organizer thanked the great hospitality of FGS South Island in giving everyone a brilliant memory.
