紐西蘭短暫悠遊一個月的旅行，無論城巿、鄉村或港口等零距離隨處俯拾可得的心靈觸感；手上的彩筆幸手拈來，記錄著當下的心境，這是繪畫的樂趣所在；只要手上有筆和紙，就可將所見、所思、所感的美好記錄下來，有別於拍照 ; 多了一些深入和細致的觀察，想從畫面中詮釋出來的，於是它們成為了我選擇用色與畫法的條件，簡單來說，我無心用水彩去重複攝影已經完成的事情，而是更重視再現以外的部分。透過這形跡上的心追手摹，看到的世界更加美麗且難忘。畫面呈現出來的是我對世界的感受，不僅是單純視覺的再現，還包括觸覺、聽覺、甚至是情緒。

Hua-Wei LAI uses coloured pens to express daily observations. Through the blending of watercolours and flowing colours, the artist captures the passage of time, the play of light and shadow, subtle atmospheres and harmonious colour transitions. This expressive style reveals profound humanistic stories and captures beautiful moments in life. Each stroke becomes a fleeting yet eternal record of the people and scenes around him, transforming ordinary daily life into artistic treasures and revealing the beauty and emotion within. Through these creations, we can appreciate and. cherish the small moments of daily life from a fresh perspective, making the ordinary more vibrant and colourful.
