Great and Compassionate Buddha!
An earthquake shook Sichuan in China on May 12.
Tens of thousands of people have died already,
With hundreds of thousands of people injured or lost their homes.
Great and Compassionate Buddha!
Have you heard the cries of suffering beings?
Have you seen the pains out of separation with beloved ones?
Buddha! Oh! Buddha!
They are the cries from hell on earth!
They are the voices of catastrophe in the Saha world!
Over there,
Landslides and cracks in the earth, and tidal waves were terrifying.
The flying sands and stones devastated many areas.
Over there,
Roads and bridges were damaged;
It is disheartening to see houses destroyed and people killed.
Many are still stranded in panic in the devastated areas.
Many people are unable to escape from the devastated areas.
Especially there were many young people and students
Who in a short moment, their family members are separated forever.
Their homelands are ruined, and the property gone.
They desperately need rescue workers to come right away!
They are eager to have the blessings and protection of the Buddha!
They, like wandering people,
are looking for a place to live.
They, like panicked lambs,are looking for a refuge.
Many were unfortunately killed.
Many were wounded and handicapped.
Great and compassionate Buddha!
I pray for your blessings.
Please let the living rid this disaster and become healthy.
Please let the departed be born and ranked in the Pure Land.
Great and compassionate Buddha!
Please let them realize that
Home go through the process of formation, abiding, deterioration, and destruction.
Only the Buddha nature can abide forever.
Please let them understand that
even family members have to suffer from separation with loved ones.
Only realizing enlightenment is the ultimate reliance.
Great compassionate Buddha!
