Alex Pangestu Family Visit

On Saturday 21 June, English Sub-Chapter member Alex Pangestu invited Venerable Abbess Manshin, other venerable and ten members of the BLIA to a family visit and home purification. Among the guests were people from Sri Lanka, the Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore.

The guests discussed different kinds of food offerings made to Sangha by Mahayana and Theravada. The Abbess encouraged everyone to apply compassion and resolve according to Mahayana tradition and respect ‘life’, not only through food offerings to Bodhisattva. She emphasized that it is important to concentrate our spiritual mind to affirm our faith and have the right view and practice. It is through the experience of education and propagating Buddhism that we are able to unite ourselves and our family members. Having a good strong root also enables us to pass on the wisdom, faith and beliefs of Buddhism.
