‘doing one good thing during the day’

Chinese School Venerable Time

Venerable Miaoyu facilitated the Fo Guang Shan Auckland Chinese School’s weekly morality discussion during the morning and afternoon classes on 21 and 22 June, which was attended by over 80 students, parents and teachers. The topic of the discussions was ‘doing one good thing during the day’. A definition of the topic was offered and 2 representatives from each group initially gave examples of a ‘good thing’. After these students were rewarded for their contribution with a lollie nearly all the other children raised their hands to give different examples. The Venerable encouraged the students to put these examples into action and be persistent in performing good deeds. At the end of the discussions everyone was given a lollie, including the teachers who gave feed back to the Temple saying that the students were very happy and excited to have been able to answer the questions, particularly because they were rewarded with a lollie.
