Vintage Car Owner Found 366 Days of Wisdom at FGS South Island

On 21st July 2021, Andy, a member of the MG Car Club Canterbury Centre, not only drove his classic car to Fo Guang Shan (FGS) South Island to participate in the Classic Car Show, but also visited the Magnificence of Embroidery Exhibition at Fo Guang Yuan (FGY) Art Gallery Christchurch. At the Art Gallery, Andy told Gallery Curator Venerable Abbess Manshin that he once read a very good book at a New Zealand hotel, and since then had been searching for the book at many bookstores, but was unable to find it. Andy showed the picture of the book saved in his mobile phone, and asked if Abbess knew where he could find the book. Abbess immediately told Andy that this was the book 366 Days with Wisdom written by Master Shing Yun, the founder of FGS. Andy was elated to learn that FGS is the publisher of the book.

Abbess also informed Andy that 6 years ago, the two FGS Temples in New Zealand had launched a book donation campaign across the North and South Islands of New Zealand, with Buddha’s Light International Association (BLIA) members forming Task-force Teams to deliver copies of Master Hsing Yun’s 366 Days with Wisdom all over New Zealand. The teams have so far travelled to 190 NZ cities and towns, delivering copies of the book to more than 800 hotels, hospitals, prisons, nursing homes and libraries, with the objective of sharing Master’s wisdom with the people of the country. Andy was very touched by the relentless efforts of FGS Temples.

After purchasing the book 366 Days with Wisdom, Andy invited Abbess to write a few words of encouragement on his book to mark the rare occasion. Abbess wrote: “Very pleased to be able to spread Master Hsing Yun’s words and wisdom to the public, and hope to impart positivity to the readers of the book.” Andy stressed that he would share the contents of the book and Abbess’s words of encouragement with his friends so that together they will work to uplift their spirituality. Andy felt that 366 Days with Wisdom is a rare book of wisdom that should be made available to more people.  He suggested that, in addition to FGS Temples, it should also be sold in the bookstores of New Zealand. Abbess remarked that she would be happy to see Andy’s suggestion successfully implemented. She then invited Andy to be the planner of this scheme to benefit more people.
