A couple from Fo Guang Shan (FGS) Christchurch, Mandy Liu and Thomas Zheng, became a Buddhist couple after obtaining the blessing of Venerable Abbess Manshin a year ago. Recently, they purchased a new house in Christchurch and invited the Abbess to blessing on 9 November. More than 10 BLIA members joined them to give their blessings to this young BLIA member.
Abbess Manshin led the BLIA members in reciting sutras and performed a purification ceremony for the new home. Afterwards, she gifted a calligraphy masterpiece of the phrase “All matters concluded” by Venerable Master Hsing Yun, wishing that this young couple’s family and career would be smooth and successful and that they would participate in more temple’s activities, support Buddhism and assist in promoting the Dharma. Mandy and Thomas expressed their gratitude to the Abbess for taking time out of her busy schedule to bless their new home, which not only increased positive energy in their home, but also made their minds and bodies more peaceful and strengthened their faith. They also thanked the BLIA members for attending and giving their blessings.
Mandy has been serving at the Fo Guang Shan Christchurch for over a year, while her husband Thomas often volunteers at the temple and is skilled in industrial work such as iron gates. The BLIA members praised their devotion to Buddhism and wished them success in their home and business, hoping that they would have more time in the future to participate in temple activities and support Buddhism.
