As the Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery New Zealand wraps up preparations for the 7th Art Salon Exhibition, NZP Assistant Commissioner Jill Rogers and her family visited the FGS Auckland on 22nd October 2023. Abbess of FGS NZ Venerable Manshin and Minister in Charge of FGS Auckland Venerable Rulian warmly received the guests along with the BLIA members.
The Abbess led AC Rogers to the Main Shrines to pay respect and pray for the wellbeing of the community with incense. Abbess explained that offering incense is one of the Ten Great Offerings in Buddhism and extended her prayers and blessings to the newly appointed AC Rogers. During the tour of the 2023 Art Salon, Abbess highlighted that this year, 101 local artists collaborated to present a total of 609 works. The team worked tirelessly over the last many weeks to thoughtfully place each piece, ensuring each unique artwork shone brilliantly. The exhibition not only purifies the spirits of the audience but also elevates their aesthetic appreciation, turning the exhibition into a feast of art.
AC Rogers expressed her honour in having visited several editions of the Art Salon. She was touched by the continuous support the Temple provided to local artists, using spectacular artworks to convey messages of goodness, beauty, and harmony. AC Rogers appreciates the anticipation of the exhibition each year and was especially captivated by the vibrant umbrella art installation in the corridor this year.
The guests expressed their gratitude for the chance to recharge at the Temple and were deeply touched by the warmth they received from the Temple. Abbess specially presented AC Rogers and her family with a blessing card and the book 366 Days of Wisdom of Venerable Master to inspire more.
