The BLIA Young Adult Division (YAD) Auckland held an Examination Blessing Ceremony on 8th June 2025 at the Main Shrine of FGS Auckland to offer blessings and support to students sitting exams. Minister in Charge Venerable Rulian led the group to recite the Heart Sutra and read the Prayer for Examination Candidates written by the Founder, Venerable Master Hsing Yun. Twenty-six youth received blessings through a purification ceremony and light offering, with prayers for strength, resilience and success in their exams. In addition, participants joined the 2025 BLIA North Island Chapter Seminar, where they received teachings from Abbess Manshin of FGS NZ, focused on unlocking inner potential through the power of wisdom.
Venerable Rulian emphasised that exams are not simply about results, but about whether one has given their best and put in genuine effort. The Temple is built on the Buddha Dharma, by praying to the Buddha, the youth not only asking for wisdom but making a promise to become quality individuals who care for others. Venerable encouraged the youth to refresh their minds and stay on the right path.
Regina Lee, President of YAD 1, expressed her gratitude for the thoughtful organisation of the event. She shared that her Buddhist grandmother always offered her blessings, which gave her strength during difficult times. Inspired by this, she made a vow for all students to participate in their exams with confidence and leave with joy, supported by the blessings from the Temple.
Miu Ler, President of YAD 2, added, “As a Year 13 student, I’m truly thankful for the Temple’s compassion in praying for our well-being, both in body and mind—it really is a blessing. As youth, we should give our best in our studies and carry the Venerable’s guidance and blessings with us in our daily lives, continuing to learn and grow.”
To conclude, Fo Guang Shan Auckland specially prepared Auspicious Apples for the youth, symbolising good wishes for exam success and the wisdom to face life’s challenges with clarity and strength.
