2023 Art Salon Volunteer Training Seminar Bringing Joy to the Community

The 7th Art Salon Exhibition of Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery Auckland is in its final preparation stages, with the Volunteers Seminar taking place on 22nd October 2023. The Curator of Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery New Zealand Abbess Manshin, and Minister in Charge Venerable Rulian were invited to deliver classes during the seminar. There were 30 volunteers attended the event, and Team Manager Vicky Han and Winnie Guan offered a guided tour of the exhibition hall.

Abbess Manshin shared the wisdom of the Founder Venerable Master Hsing Yun’s Dharma Words “The inner realm of the mind is the most profound space of all”. In today’s technologically advanced era, Abbess emphasized that entering the Temple offers a tranquil atmosphere, enabling individuals to reconnect with their spiritual roots. Abbess also expressed gratitude to the artists and the team for their creative contributions to elevate the quality of life. The sincere efforts of all involved have transformed the Art Salon Exhibition into a beacon of joy and value for the community.

Venerable Rulian encouraged the volunteers by quoting Venerable Master’s interpretation of the Four Means of Embracing: Kind Words is the sincere and truth language; Empathy refers to working together, serving the public without judgement; Altruism is to give convenience, and make visitors feel welcoming; Giving means developing affinity, offering the best smiles to public.

Team Manager Vicky pointed out that the original intention of the Art Salon was to provide a platform for New Zealand’s local artists, allowing them to showcase their work, develop affinity, and also record their history. Staff member Winnie thanked the Abbess for her leadership to lead the team in setting up the exhibition. She was thankful for the opportunity to be part of this art journey.
