BLIA South Island Embarks 366 Book Delivery: More than 800 Hotels Benefitted Within 10 Years

The 3rd Subchapter of the Buddha’s Light International Association (BLIA) South Island NZ carried out a book gifting event featuring 366 Days with Wisdom, a collection of teachings by Venerable Master Hsing Yun, on 21st and 22nd February 2025. Led by Subchapter President Peiyi KEOW, the team donated total of 70 copies of 366 Days with Wisdom to 10 hotels and retirement villages in Christchurch.

The manager of Margaret Stoddard Retirement Village happily accepted the books and expressed gratitude to the BLIA members for delivering them in person, hoping for more opportunities to collaborate with the temple in the future. Riccarton Motor Lodge owner Maureen and 166 Majestic Lodge Motel manager shared that 366 Days with Wisdom is well-received by guests and they took this opportunity to request additional copies to replace those taken by visitors. Earnslaw Motel owner Linda mentioned that alongside the Bible, 366 Days with Wisdom provide travellers with an excellent alternative for spiritual reading.

In 2015, under the guidance of Abbess Manshin, FGS NZ initiated the 366 Days with Wisdom book donation project, distributing the books to hotels, retirement villages, clinics, libraries and schools across the country. Over the past decade, more than 27,000 books have been donated, benefitting 860 hotels.

With the spirit of Giving in Humanistic Buddhism, BLIA members joyfully spread the wisdom of Venerable Master Hsing Yun through this book donation initiative, bringing positive energy to the society.
