On 8th November 2025, the BLIA South Island Chapter held the Oceania Buddhism Examination, based on Humanistic Buddhism: An Epoch in the Human World by Venerable Master Hsing Yun. There were 24 members who participated online, includes 3 members took the English version.
Minister in Charge of FGS Christchurch, Venerable Juexi, encouraged participants to take the exam as an expression of faith and an opportunity to cultivate wholesome connections. She reminded that scores are not the most important aspect, but participating with a joyful heart and using the exam to deepen one’s understanding of Buddhist teachings.
During the exam, members focused on answering questions and reviewed materials together. Despite technical challenges, even senior members participated fully. President James LOW led the English Buddhist Class students in a revision session prior to the exam and participants also vowed to apply the teachings in their daily life.
