New Fo Guang Yuan Art Christchurch Exhibition, the Sacred Art Exhibition

On 16th February 2pm, lively atmosphere filled the Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery Christchurch with a melodious flute played by Jonny Bear in the opening of the Sacred Art Exhibition. This opening ceremony attracted more than 60 people which consists of the 7 artists exhibiting and artists that exhibited before like the Keith Morant couple, Paul Deans, Suzy Abbott, Ros Beck and not to forget Constable Liying Cai and BLIA members.

Vjekoslav Nemesh is the convenor of the “Sacred Art Tour” exhibition. He held an art workshop called “Sacred Art Tour” at Fernside on the outskirts of Christchurch from 9th to 13th February. In the session, several of them showed artistic talent in the workshop.

The works exhibited at the Sacred Heart Exhibition are oil paintings, in which the beautiful and dazzling colours of Nemesh’s works are dazzling. In addition to that, there are stereoscopic images. Displays of glass painting, goblets, vases, containers, and many more were decorated with exquisite and beautiful patterns, showing an elegant artistic atmosphere.

The opening ceremony was greeted by the gallery’s PR Craig, followed by seven artists Vjekoslav Nemesh, David Arkenstone Barnett, Jonny Bear, Sandra McAlpine, Tracy Stevenson, Virginia McNaughton and Kim Mehlhopt. Nemesh said that he had the concept of an art workshop three years ago and his friends Jonny Bear with Sandra McAlpine were looking for a place. Now they have found the right space to hold an art workshop, allowing students to create in a comfortable environment and hand over brilliant transcripts. Art students expressed their pleasure to be able to participate in this workshop and also thanked the Art Gallery for providing such artistic space.

The venue also broadcasts short films of artists in the art workshops, from which tell the meaning of their artwork and talk about their karma and mentality in contact with the art.

Nemesh painted at the opening ceremony. He picked up his brush and painted on canvas. He used bold colors to attract many people. The public was amazed at the authenticity of this professional artist pushed to the highest point! Praises were given to the artist, the exhibition and the Fo Guang Yuan Christchurch Art Gallery.
