Teacher of dance Patricia Paul is the founder of South Island’s Patricia Paul School, and has provided lessons for and helped with Buddha’s Light International Association South Island and Fo Guang Shan South Islands’ events and performances.
On the 6th of December, Patricia will be conducting a dance performance “Dance to the Heart” at University of Canterbury, Ngaio Marsh Theater. As a token of appreciation and reciprocal support, several BLIA members will be performing Dun Huang Dance’s ‘Flying Devata’ during her performance.
In preparation for their performance, the members gathered at Fo Guang Shan South Island Temple on the 28th of November to have their second practice session, where they practiced with all their heart and effort. BLIA Young Adult Division member Andy Hsu will also be performing ‘Shaolin Martial Arts’ during the dance performance. Both performances will contribute to the night by showcasing the unique Chinese culture.
