BLIA Youth Conference Continues in South Africa

Over 50 BLIA YAD members from all over the world diligently prepared for the 2015 BLIA YAD International Conference in South Africa’s Nan Hua Temple. Through team building fun and games, everyone has gotten to know each other better and learned many new things for application.

Guided by BLIA YAD Guidance Counsellor Xu Hong Li and Jia Qi Gu, the games allowed everyone to learn the valuable Humanistic Buddhism ideals of team work. They youths have thoroughly understood that organising any activity isn’t easy. All details must be looked into, including time arrangement, venue usage, safety precautions and participant number control. This requires everyone to be comprehensively aware by testing our thorough mindedness, compassion and wisdom, therefore truly actualising the spirit of a Bodhisattva.

BLIA YAD Committee Members and Organiser to this event Si Han Wu shared the story of Nan Hua Temple with all the participants. The temple took over 10 years to build thanks to all the causes and conditions from the 10 directions. Three Buddhas within the Main Shrine have black skins, signifying that the Dharma has no national boundaries when it comes to localisation to liberate sentient beings. The temple structures are also an amalgamation of Chinese and South African culture through architecture and adornments. This made the locals very happy. All the visiting youths were very impressed by this localisation of Buddhism.
