On 14th March, Venerable Ani Kunzang of Christchurch brought Thuplin Rinpoche and Venerable Thutop La from the Dhangyey Buddhist Centre in Dunedin to IBA South Island for a visit. The guests were given a tour of the Temple and its Embroidery Exhibition by the staff of Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery South Island.
Thuplin Rinpoche said that it was a pleasure to have the opportunity to witness the Chinese Embroidery art during his visit to the Temple. Venerable Abbess Manshin presented Thuplin Rinpoche with books by Venerable Master Hsing Yun and gave the guests a brief introduction to Fo Guang Shan North and South Island Temples’.
Venerable Ani Kunzang also commented that Venerable Abbess Manshin’s speech during the 6th New Zealand Multi-faith Meeting left her with a good impression of Humanistic Buddhism.
Before the guests left, the Temple invited them to participate in the Buddha’s Birthday Multicultural Blessing Dharma Function, which will be held on 18th of April in front of Cathadral Square, in which the guests promised to attend.
