Ambassador Ma Chong Ren was present at the celebrations of “61” Children’s Ceremony held at the Chinese Consulate on 15 June 2008. Wendy Wang, Administration Officer and teachers Zhang Hua and Liu Xiu of Fo Guang Shan Chinese School attended along with more than a thousand students and parents from 40 other Auckland Chinese Schools.
During the activities of this very successful event, there were games and questions for students to complete to see how much the students understand about Chinese culture, history, geography and the 2008 Olympics and an award was given to those with the most correct answers. There were also a film and dessert.
The Ambassador looked at each of the stalls and said that the Chinese Schools in Auckland meet the requirements of the local government and he appreciates the co-operation and assistance from the very good teachers.
