Temple Visit – Alfriston College
On Tuesday 24 June fifteen ESC (English as a second language) students from Alfriston College, with their teacher, Lynda Shanks, visited the Temple to learn more about Buddhism to enable them to understand, accept and respect other people’s religion and culture. They watched a film about Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Temple which explained the Mahayana tradition of the Temple through its ideology of culture and education.
Venerable Miaoyu led the Tai Chi exercises and meditation and English sub-chapter member, Ruth Wagner, assisted to gain more experience of guiding tours at the Temple.
