Fo Guang Yuan (FGY) Art Gallery Christchurch provides an exhibition platform for Christchurch and international artists to showcase their artworks to the locals through exhibitions. Early December, Russian artist, Natalie Dybova exhibited her artworks in the gallery, which received huge compliments by the visitors. On 20th December, one of her painting, ‘Pears’, has been sold to a buyer named Gayel Marquet.
When Gayel saw the painting, she was deeply attracted by the realistic pear and admired artist’s painting skills. The pears in the painting are very three-dimensional, which makes the viewer wanted to reach out and pick them. Gayel plan to give this painting to her husband as Christmas gift. This gift is also an appreciation to her husband for looking after their family over all these years.
When Natalie’s paintings were exhibiting in the gallery, her family, friends and neighbours supporting and cheer her up by coming over to view the paintings. One of her neighbours said that Natalie are very kind and always cares about her. She stated that sometime Natalie will help her to buy groceries or items that she needed from the supermarket. She remembered that when she visited Natalie’s house, Natalie was in the progress of painting ‘Pears’ artwork. Now when she look at the finished artwork in the gallery, she was amazed that it is very outstanding and remarkable.
Natalie uses oil painting for her artworks creation. She had been trained with traditional oil painting and her creative concept was influenced by the Italian Renaissance. Natalie’s creative themes include botanical art, sketching, landscape painting and etc. Her original paintings are realistic yet delicate which gave the visitors a comfort feeling in viewing and her paintings were so popular that had been sold worldwide to countries like Russia, Australia and New Zealand. FGY Art Gallery Christchurch encourage her to create more artworks in future and is looking forward to Natalie’s new painting that will definitely surprise the public.
