Otahuhu Primary School Enjoyed the Empowering Experience

The 7th 3G4G Festival of Cultural Sharing kicked start on the morning of 3 May 2021. There were 210 students from Year 4 to 6 of Otahuhu Primary School, led by 30 teachers and parents, visited the Auckland Temple for the first time.

Upon arrival, the students were warmly welcomed by the BLIA members and volunteers. The students learnt about the value of Three Acts of Goodness and Four Givings through interesting activities like bathing the Buddha, striking wishing bell, making lotus flower origami, Taichi and mindfulness meditation. Temple also specially prepared delicious refreshment, Laba Congee, for the students. There were 4 police officers including Senior Constable Matt Green, Constable Piho, Constable Paul and Constable Steve Webb came to support the event and interact with the students.

The students shared that they enjoyed the mindfulness meditation session which they felt very comfortable and peaceful. One of the tour guides, Vicky Han, mentioned that the Temple is a spiritual home for the community and they are welcome to come back anytime.

The teacher leader Fatima Dollie expressed her gratitude to the Temple for organising such a empowering educational experience. The teachers, parents and students were speaking highly of their experience and they are looking forward to coming back again.
