During the 17 and 18 February 2022, FGS Auckland received 160 cartons of hand sanitisers with 3840 bottles, which the FGY Art Gallery volunteer donated on behalf of Green Cross Health Distribution Ltd. The outbreak in Auckland is spreading rapidly, with thousands of new cases each day and many confirmed cases in schools. Abbess Manshin was concerned about community schools. Once the sanitisers arrived at the Temple, the team repacked with the school label on the boxes right away. The BLIA team Split into three groups to distribute the sanitisers to 12 schools according to the planned route, including Venerables, the temple team, President of BLIA North Island Yu-Lin Gu, committees and YADs.
The Principal of Ormiston Primary School, Heath McNeil, appreciate Temple’s care during the pandemic. He felt surprised and praised the Temple’s efficiency in delivering the hand sanitiser the same day they received them. ELM Park School’s Principal Trish Plowright stated that the sanitiser is like timely rain, arriving when the school needs it most. Sunnyhills School posted the appreciation message to Temple on their Facebook page.
Peta Lindstorm, Principal of Holy Trinity Catholic Primary School, appreciates the Temple’s care and support for the community school. This batch of sanitiser ensures the safety of students and will also save the school from extra spending. They look forward to participating in the 3G4G Festival of Cultural Sharing in 2023.
Gary Moore, the Principal of Rutherford College, stated that the concept of 3 Goodness and 4 Givings learned from Temple helped establish the students’ mindset in school, hopefully, to arrange for year 7 & 8 students to join the Festival again. Tangaroa College Principal Davida White expressed her gratitude for the concern from the Temple and hoped to receive information regarding the coming 3G4G Festival.
Te Uho o te Nikau Primary School instantly posted the thank you message on their Facebook page once they received the hand sanitisers. Besides, Principal Melissa Bland invited the school staff to take a group photo with BLIA members and thank Temple for the tremendous support. Adele Jacobs, Deputy Principal of Willowbank School, appreciated the timely arrival of hand sanitisers, which also helped cost savings.
Tracy Prout, Deputy Principal of Papatoetoe Intermediate School, thanked the Temple for the kindness and for teaching students to be grateful for the precious materials. The students experienced multiculturalism besides learning the concepts from the 3G4G Festival, and they are hoping to bring them again this year. Finlayson Park School teacher Minzhen Li is grateful to the Temple for thinking of the school at this difficult time and for sending such valuable supplies.
Abbess appreciated that the Temple team brought the hand sanitisers to the school so quickly, alleviating the pressure caused by the outbreak and praying for the safety and wellbeing of schools and the community.
