The 2026 Pride In Print Awards, one of New Zealand’s leading honours for the printing industry, were recently held at Te Pae Convention Centre in Christchurch. The awards recognise outstanding print and visual communication work produced in New Zealand.
Auckland printing company iProduction, led by Director Andy XU, received national recognition for the double-layer translucent fabric displays produced for Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery New Zealand’s exhibitions Soaring Through the Sky – Dunhuang Art Exhibition and 60 Years of Passing the Lamp, Honouring a 100-Year Legacy – Venerable Master Hsing Yun Commemorative Exhibition. With innovative use of materials, precise colour control and exceptional print quality, the work received a Gold Award from more than 1,000 entries nationwide and went on to win first place as Process Winner in the Inkjet Printing category among more than 140 Gold Award recipients.
Established in 1993, the Pride In Print Awards aim to promote excellence across New Zealand’s printing industry. Entries are carefully assessed by an expert judging panel across a wide range of criteria, including technical execution, typography, design quality, production processes, materials and equipment.
The judges praised the double-layer translucent fabric display for overcoming significant technical challenges. Printed with latex ink on a specialised translucent material, the work achieved an exceptional result that highlighted both the quality of the printing and the potential of the medium.
Andy XU expressed his appreciation to Curator Abbess Manshin of FGY Art Gallery NZ, for maintaining high standards for print quality. He said these expectations encouraged the printing team to overcome technical challenges through close collaboration, while helping the exhibitions achieve a striking visual impact in New Zealand.
