Since 2017, Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery, Auckland has successfully held an art exhibition showcasing artworks from artists all over New Zealand. Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery New Zealand’s curator Venerable Abbess Manshin came up with the idea of having a New Zealand Artists Cultural and Art Exchange Gathering at the Auckland temple. She emphasized that the Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery is to be a platform for local artists to exhibit and showcase their creativeness and talent to the public.
Venerable Abbess Manshin hopes that the more Artists will visit the temple so that they would feel inspired and express their experiences and feelings through art. By doing so, it would bring people together and contribute to a better society. Hence, the idea of holding an Art Salon was born.
