Art Salon FAQ

Q: What are your opening hours?

A: We are open Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm.

Q: Is Photography permitted in the Gallery?

A: You are welcome to take photographs for personal (i.e. non-commercial) use in the Gallery, but do not use the flash as the light emitted by the camera’s flash can damage artworks and be a nuisance to other visitors. And remember that special conditions apply to particular artworks or exhibitions. Look out for the no photography icon indicating objects or exhibitions that cannot be filmed or photographed.

Q: Can I put some of my brochures at your Gallery?

A: The Gallery has very limited space for promotional material, therefore, we only display our own material.

Q: Are there any additional costs involved?

A: The entry of Art Salon is complimentary.  However, the artists are responsible for the costs of freight to the show and return of any unsold artworks after the show.

Q: When will be the payment to the artist for the sold artwork?

A: Payments to artists are usually paid 4 weeks after our event has closed.

Q: Are the artworks covered by insurance starting from the transit of the artwork?

A: Insurance of artworks is the artist’s responsibility at the show and also in transit. We will endeavour to handle your work with care and respect but the insurance of artwork is the artist’s responsibility. Please realise If any damage or loss occurs it is at the artist’s own risk.

Q: Can I courier the artwork to you?

A: All works being couriered to The Art Salon should be couriered to

Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery Auckland

16 Stancombe Rd, Flat Bush, Auckland 2016

Q: What is the Application Selection Process?

A: Artists must make an application to The Art Salon to have their work reviewed in the selection process for our show. Art that is selected for the show will be of a high standard and presentation. It will be in a fit state and be ready for exhibition. We expect the work to reflect the personal style of the artist, to be their own intellectual property. Selection is at the discretion of The Art Salon and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into on our final decision.

Q: When will I hear if my application has been successful?

A: Whilst we do our best to review everyone’s applications as quickly as possible, due to the high volume we receive and our selection committees’ promise to give each application enough time to be reviewed thoroughly, the process can sometimes incur delays.
