On 3rd April 2022, FGS Auckland conducted an annual Qing Ming Dharma Function at 8 am. FGS New Zealand Abbess Manshin and Venerables led about 200 devotees chanting the Compassionate Samadhi Water Repentance. The merit from the repentance shall be devoted and shared with our ancestors and all the past life karmic creditors, wishing all have growing wisdom, health and the pandemic could end soon.
Abbess Manshin acknowledged the filial devotees who attended the Dharma Function to pray for their ancestors in the early morning. She stated that people with wisdom always appreciate, give back, improve themselves, and pass on the great virtues to the next generation. During the outbreak, many schools had no sufficient Rapid Antigen Test kits supply. When Abbess comprehended this situation, she immediately contacted the BLIA World Headquarters for RAT Kits to relieve the pressure on the school. The BLIA HQ in Taiwan then directly responded and sponsored 15,000 RAT kits to schools in New Zealand.
The FGS Temple team collaborated with NZ Police to speed up the delivery process of RAT Kits. As a token of gratitude to NZ Police, FGS Auckland organised an appreciation award ceremony during the Qing Ming Dharma Function. The appreciation certificate was presented to the representatives of NZ Police – Manukau East Area Commander Inspector Scott Gemmell and Senior Sergeant Anson Lin. Additionally, Mission Heights Junior College Principal Ian Morrison and Flat Bush Primary School Principal Banapa Avatea also presented to witness the wonderful moment together.
