Much preparation has gone into the “Love and Peace Multi-religion Concert”, co-organized by FGS North and South Island New Zealand since the event was proposed in April. On the 10th of May, the event’s main supervisor Venerable Abbess Manshin and three committee members went to Burnside High School’s Aurora Centre to inspect the performance venue, where they were greeted on arrival by Technical Director Leiticia.
Leiticia guided them to the auditorium to learn more about the stage, lighting and audio facilities. Leiticia said that the Aurora Centre is a modern and multi-purpose space that is complete with some of the latest equipment available. The spacious venue able to accommodate up to 700 people at a time and is especially suited for musical performances with extra rooms for holding meetings and conferences.
The “Love and Peace Interfaith Concert” is scheduled to be held on 2nd November at the Aurora Centre in Christchurch, New Zealand, and on 3rd November at the Fo Guang Shan North Island temple. The purpose of the concert is to bring harmony and joy to Christchurch and promote world peace. The programme will include prayer blessings from various religious leaders, singing and dance performances, as well as interfaith forums and Humanistic Buddhism lectures.
