New Zealander Treats 366 Days With Wisdom Like a Treasure

Christchurch resident Nick Henshaw came across Venerable Master Hsing Yun’s 366 Days with Wisdom book last Christmas at a hotel he stayed in during a vacation on the West Coast of South Island. After reading the book, he found the content to be very good and inspiring, so he looked around for where to get the book. After months of searching, he finally found out that he could purchase it from Fo Guang Shan (FGS) South Island temple, and so on 14th April after work, he came to the temple for the book.

When Nick saw the 366 Days book at the temple, he was so moved with tears of joy. He rushed to take a picture of the book to declare his victory to his friends: “I finally found it (366 Days with Wisdom), thanks everyone helping me to find it!”. Nick will share the contents of the book with his family and friends, so as to experience the wisdom of Venerable Master Hsing Yun together.

In 2015, Fo Guang Shan (FGS) NZ Venerable Abbess Manshin launched the Sharing Wisdom with Travelers book donation campaign across the North and South Islands of New Zealand, with Buddha’s Light International Association (BLIA) members forming teams to deliver copies of Master Hsing Yun’s 366 Days book all over the country. The team traveled over 23,000 kilometers across 200 NZ cities and towns in two years, delivering books to 700 hotels, hospitals, prisons, nursing homes, clinics, libraries, schools, etc. The team delivered over 20,000 books, spreading Master Hsing Yun’s wisdom throughout New Zealand, sending love and warmth into the community.
