New Zealand Buddha’s Light International Association (BLIA) South Island conducted the second BLIA member lecture on 27th March which invited Fo Guang Shan New Zealand Venerable Abbess Manshin as speaker. BLIA President, vice president, staffs and more than 30 members have joined this lecture class. Abbess conducted the lecture said that: Venerable Master Hsing Yun implemented, promoted humanistic Buddhism and establishes BLIA around the world, to encourage the devotees approach and propagate the Buddhism. Together protect dharma and venerables as our duty. Abbess also used the interview question from TV One presenter “What is humanistic Buddhism?” and seek the understanding from every member. Some gave inspired, creative answer that shows their multi-sided and bountiful mind of BLIA members. Abbess encourages members must plenitude themselves and known their unable, unknown and self improve, self educate to represent Fo Guang Shan with pride. Member must contains the vow and spirit of “Can’t bear the suffer of sentient being, can’t bear the decline of great religion.” As a BLIA member, we must have the spirit of propagate the Buddhism start within me and dedicate our heart and energy to Buddhism. At the end, Abbess teaches members to sing a Buddhism song to bring up the passionate of every BLIA members.
