The Fat Fallacy health talk, getting people to a healthier lifestyle

Dr Corin Storkey, the founder of Seleno Health had a talk at Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Temple on The Fat Fallacy – It’s safe to eat butter again on 18 March 2019. Amidst the incident that has just happened three days ago, around 20 people attended this health talk which includes the BLIA South Island Deputy Presidents, Ding Lihson and James Low.

In the talk, Dr Corin shared on demographics on what country consumes the most saturated fat, how fat and heart disease are interrelated, how cholesterol works, some insights on western medication, what food should we consume to get healthy and also what ingredients to be trusted in the nutrition facts label on food products.

It is also shared that butter is not the reason of being fat but sugar, non-exercising, having salt, taking too large of food portions and some other causes could make the human body prone to illness. Tips were then given to a better health. Everyone was then invited to join Seleno Health by volunteering in Peru where the company is based in.

This talk, which the proceedings all go to the mass shooting that happened on 15 March was a beneficial and attendees are now more health conscious and moving towards a healthy lifestyle. Dr Corin has then thanks Fo Guang Shan South Island NZ for preparing the venue for the talk.
