The Origin of Laba Congee
Buddha practiced 6 years of ascetic before he achieved enlightenment, he regained energy after he received a bowl of rice milk from a shepherdess. Buddha then attained enlightenment under the Bodhi Tree on the night of the eighth day of the 12th lunar month, which is known as the Buddha’s Enlightenment Day, also recognized as Dharma Day.
To celebrate the day, we share the Laba Congee (Enlightenment Congee), cooked with 8 superfoods, to wish you an abundance of wisdom and joy.

White rice, glutinous rice, vegetable, carrot, taro, fried dough stick, tofu, black fungus, peanut, lotus seed, soy bean, oil, salt, ginger
